Another way to look at it is: Anyone can pick a winning horse when it is standing in the winner’s circle, but if you want to get paid when your horse comes in, you need to place your bet before it leaves the gate. Consider that where someone is today is not necessarily where they will be tomorrow. The “great” can fall just as the “modest” can rise. Why? Because life is flimsy. Life is never about where you’re at because that’s always changing– it’s about how you steer.

I think the 4 … I think the 4 questions are a great start, then again at, lets say three months you ask yourself the same questions. Maybe again at 6 months and so on contemplating furthering your investment. Then there is a point when you have your answers and you may make a decision or not. Someone once said, “it is easier to obtain than to maintain” and the statistics on marriage ending in divorce supports that they are as predictable as a coin toss. Still, I like the 4 question approach to start with.

How do I know when … How do I know when to invest? I tell my kids (1 daughter in her last year in college) 2 sons finished college (1) engaged to a very nice young lady. My advice to them has always been . It’s OK to invest in a potential partner only AFTER they have PROVEN themselves worthy of your time. Don’t back a horse that hasn’t won a race, I especially wanted my daughter to know this. I see far too many young ladies invest in unworthy men. Ladies don’t back a man who hasn’t already proven himself worthy.

cool video – funny … cool video – funny too!
but about those love languages. my parents don’t have the same ones, but they get along fine. can’t people just learn their partner’s love languages and things still work out?

glad you focused on … glad you focused on values and not on possessions.
though i will say many women my age aren’t ready to handle #4….most of us can only deal with when times are good/easy, not challenging times. some of us are mature enough.
also, glad you mentioned the love languages!

PS> youre not a … PS> youre not a partner yet so all of your videos are not grouped. make sure you fix your tags so that the first one or two are identical for all of your videos. it will help them stay closer in the related videos.

Initially, video 2 … Initially, video 2 rubbed me the wrong way because it was so directed at a women investing in a man, which left me thinking “If he is the investment, then what am I?”.
I think you should format your advice closer to video 3, than video 2 in the future, Its not just a gimmick, its great life advice and both black men and black women can benefit from the message of investing vs shopping.

you are so on the … you are so on the money with those four key question. I mean we all have our things that we want but none of them should be more important than those four questions. I thought the language barrier skit was hilarious. I actually like your content. I subscribed to your page so that I can see the infamous”Helena Andrews” interview. Thanks for the advice. I’m taking notes.
