Date A Guy Who Was In Jail ??? Helppp !?

I’m not in any way trying to judge this guy…but is it worth it to date him if he’s been in jail (for awhile,too) ? I’ve been in this position before with a guy whose spent a few months in jail,came out and got his life straight,went to church & gave his life to God. Half way thru our relationship he does a 180º and starts to backslide into his old ways again & completely drops his faith, so we called it quits. I really wanna believe this new guy is different, than my ex ! He seems really passionate about his family & God,but I’m just beginning to know him…I just don’t wanna go thru the same thing again & all the pain I did w| my ex. Should I give this dude a chance even though he’s had a history knowing fully well what I’m getting myself into….or should I jus remain acquaintances w| him ??
I feel like history is repeating itself,srange but true & I know everyone has a past & you jus shouldn’t cross them out b|c of it but I gave a chance to my ex and he disappointed me. I don’t want to be let down again with someone who claims they’ve changed and then renounces everything they’ve said. :\ It’s not even a religious thing..I don’t want him to come off as being this goody two shoes church boy and then he goes and changes on me.
People never really change, they might have moments when they act different but sooner or later they come back to their real selves. My advise, don’t bother dating ex-convs, you’ll find a decent person eventually.
