-According to Brenda Lane Richardson, author of Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, a book that depicts successful interracial relationships.
“A lot of our behavior is shaped by what we see in the media,” explains Richardson. “There used to be a time when there would be an African-American movie with an all African-American cast. That’s changed. Today you might see an African-American family with White neighbors or family members working with Whites … There’s so much more mingling that people start to think it’s natural. If we see it in the media, people will think this is what the world is like and start to believe it.”
-Nichols-Nash also says that some Black women date White men because they have no other choice. Black men, for whatever reason, she says, tend to shy away from Black women of status.
“Some men don’t perceive certain women as your average woman anymore because of their experience or education,” explains Nichols-Nash. “Some Black men will look at you a certain way. They know that you have a lot going on and that they can’t play games. Sometimes it’s harder to attract Black guys when you have a lot going for yourself.”

FYI. I enjoy a large cultural palette which includes different cultures. Everything from the music and dance that I enjoy to the foods I like to eat. Sticking to one culture or conforming to one culture doesn’t apply. My personal experiences are just that, my personal experiences. You cannot tell anyone what they experience personally because you do not know them or the area in which they reside. If you want to know my preferences, personal experiences, likes and dislikes, I have videos and an area for personal messages. If I were single and was attracted to a man who was in his cultural dress, I would talk to him. I have date quite a few men who have represented their heritage openly whether it be through wearing their country’s flag to speaking their country’s language. Speculations are not a good way to start any form of communication. Many people who date interracially do not prefer race and for many that poses a problem. I personally do not prefer any race, I prefer good character, consistency, respect and common interest. If you feel this has nothing to do with what you said, think carefully. It does!
