-A complete abomination. This is so far removed from how Holmes is it doesn’t even deserve to use the name. Guy Ritchie doesn’t understand his country’s most beloved sleuth at all. Conan Doyle, Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett deserve far better than this Hollywood schlock. Absurd. -And I love Downey Jr., but he made a huge mistake. I will stay one million miles away from this movie.

holmes was above all a scientist true to the scientific method; isn’t there enough supernatural (nonsense) in contemporary culture today? i am referring solely to the levitation scene. this movie will be pretty if holmes does not debunk all claims of the supernatural.
