Sometimes I wish they did a hidden camera show on these sistas and followed them around as they live their lives in Atlanta. I want to see what type of men these Spelman ladies deal with on a daily basis… Better yet what type of men they don’t WANT to deal with.

When that happens, finally there will be a reckoning…

JAMESj30t, thanks for the reply and I must say that on the O. show S. Harvey was on w/black women, those women got on TV & said there were no good bm in ATLANTA & they were LYING. I have SEEN these bm from ages 19 up into their 60′s, well spoken, educated, NOT THUGS, shirts tucked into their pants- just regular guys. I have SEEN w/my own eyes. I saw/heard them in grocery stores, ect. Regular bm. Something is WRONG w/ those bw on Oprah to me. All they R doing is making us ALL look bad. I’m sorry.

I get the feeling …
I get the feeling bw don’t want to CHANGE or COMPROMISE any part of themselves & Oprah has figured out that she’s pretty much wasting her time trying to get them to change. To me personally, MOST bw don’t even try to go to a gym and lose some weight to try to better-attract a man. They won’t compromise on anything so they stay single. Ophra has seen this, so she just tells them what they want to hear, like “Go girl” & sends them on their way, because that’s all they’ll listen to. End of story.

PINKKelephant, I’ve just listened to your great video and I’m sort of in shock “with” you. But in my humble opinion, there is something about BW to me that is “stuborn”, like they won’t listen. I honestly don’t think BW will ACCEPT a reason other than it’s bm’s fault they are alone. On the O. show that Steve Harvey came to, 6 bw were on close caption and one of them argued with Harvey over a pair of Christian Loubuton (sp?) shoes she didn’t want to give up. (cont..)

Yeah It’s hard to believe that she couldn’t get any Morehouse men to counterpoint the Spelmen ladies on national TV. It only shows that Oprah & her corporate paymasters have a distinct anti-black male agenda. Steve Harvey is from the baby boomer generation.

How can he speak on the relationship problems or lack thereof with today’s black youth between the common marrying ages of 24-34? I wish the sistas would pick up on this fact.

Cotillions are …
Cotillions are coming-of-age balls common in middle class white communities & upper class to elite black communities back in the day that introduced teenage boys & girls to each other. Sort of a way for young adults to learn how to properly conduct themselves in front of the opposite sex.

I just say that maybe this should be introduced to the middle & lower class black communities as a starting point for young black adults to learn how to interact with each other in a well-behaved manner.

I guess you don’t know who Nate is. Not that it matters, but the guy that helped her, Nate, was gay. That woman seemed too picky just like the other black women you mentioned. She reminded me of Jennifer Anniston’s love life, wanting to date a 31 year old. In the end she didn’t want a second date with the guy.

Great points. Realtalk43 did a video not too long ago where he showed that the gap between statistics of educated BM vs BW is not anywhere near as big as the media makes it seem. It fact it was pretty close when you consider that there are significantly more black women then men. What’s interesting to me is that these shows that talk about this issue never actually compare stats of how many bm/bw have degrees. They just say that it’s lower than the women and leave it at that. Why?

Excellent point. Having Morehouse men, the direct counterparts to the Spelman women, would have made perfect sense. By not having Morehouse men on the show, she promotes the idea that BM are not in college, etc.
