whole korea was “liberated” from japan through soviet forces and kor. partisan. K was definitely NOT “liberated” by the US. US came to korea after the japan’s capitulation. and it was also an US-idea to seperate the country. instead of a “liberation” from dictatorship the US gave new dictators to the korean people, Rhee Syngman, Park Chung-Hee and Chun Doo Hwan, they oppressed human rights and democracy under the goodwill of US. that time was not much better than in N-Korea today.
