is an african man dating an african american woman really a mix interracial couple/relationship?…

couples that are discriminated against
Do you think an african man dating an african american women is a mix couple/relationship?… if so, do you think they would face as much discrimination as a white/black couple?… and if they have a baby what origin would the child be (the african and african american couples child)? would it be considered african boy or girl or african american?

while the two are different they still fall under the category of black. Its just a different kind of black.

Regardless of what country they are from they are both still BLACK. Unless you’re talking about a WHITE african… then Yes it would be interracial.

Two black people are not interracial. You mean a black African, right? They won’t face anything except the usual racism from non-blacks. If the baby is born in America, then it will be African-American. If in Africa, then it will be African.

What a dumb question…The only differences between an African and African American, is culture and language…Much like any American would is dating some one from a different country whether their skin color is the same or different…The child would be first and foremost whatever the country he/she was born in….Your origins is where you are born, so I don’t get it…

No they are both black but from different places AND different cultures.

If a Swedish girl dates a white American man, is that interracial too?

LOL. All humans are the same race.

Well, what ethnicity is the African man? African doesn’t necessarily mean black. Some folks just can’t get past that. Google the difference between ethnicity and nationality. Educate yourself.

    Edit – Thank you Ethioboy!!

Yes to your first question. No to the second. For the third one about the baby, that is there decision. I personally believe that there are not any such things as African Americans. The number of true Africans that have migrated here from Africa are too mixed in there blood and heritage. One example of a true African is Obama’s mother, (and I am not using her as an example for any reason except to show she was born in that country). The proof is that her parents were true Africans, because there blood is not mixed with Americans who migrated here.Another thing is that people that live in Africa don’t always consider themselves Africans, they are born in different countries,Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Ethiopia and countries like this. So if your skin is dark you might be Egyptian and not African.

Not interracial, that wouldn’t be the word. They’re both ‘African’ in a sense. African origins is what you could call it I suppose. As for the baby, it depends on where it’s born. If it’s born in America it’s African-American, if it’s born in Africa it’s technically African. I don’t think the couple would be discriminated against because they’re both ‘black’ or whatever term you prefer to use.

no because it be a intercultural relationship Africans and African Americans are both black. But the two groups are different culturally because they have different beliefs surrounding everday life. I think the fact that the two groups are different is partly the reason why they sometimes cannot get along. they wouldnt be discriminated against because like a black and white couple because they are both black. I think if they had a child they would be consider African American.

It COULD possibly be one in some circumstances because Africa refers to a nationality and not a race. An African of another race who is dating a Black American would constitute an interracial relationship.

    - That’s not interracial and I think many people wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference so no
