I don;t think its African Americans who wouldn’t want to be friends. We find out everyday that people who we befriended, trusted, or sometimes are in your "family’ are racist, so its on the racist to let it go.

First, How does one define a "racist". Frankly that term has been so overused in the past 2 years that it is losing its stigma and meaning. Anymore if you fart in a room full of people of the opposite race of you they label you a racist.
Another thing, race and racism goes far beyond black and white. There are other races on the planet. Asian, Hispanic.
Now, if the racist you are speaking of is being labeled a racist simply because they are a republican or tea party member, can not stand Barack Obama and dont like rap music, well it would not bother me being friends with them because i see no proof on my part that they are a racist. None of those things have anything to do with race, even though the Mainstream Media is trying to make them out as being race related.
On the other hand if the same person has a history of using the N-word in a negative manner and maybe is part of a KKK style group of course i would cut off all connections with him/her regardless if i was dating anyone or not.
