Dating World Online: Tips To Find Your Dream Date

October 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

It seems like everyone is talking about on-line dating these days. Everyone has either a wonderful success story or the worst horror story in the world. If you are new to the world of Internet dating, you may be put off by the horror stories. However, the online dating world can also be a wonderful place to meet new people-even that “special someone.” The only difference between “real” dating and on-line dating is the Internet.

In our new technological world, many people are turning to the Internet and online dating services (such as Match.com or eHarmony.com) to not only find romance, but also social networking or just making new friends. These services are revolutionizing the online dating world.

The numbers of people who are participating in online dating services are on the rise. A recent study showed that approximately 1 out of 5 Americans have or do now participate in some form of an online dating service. The anonymity that the online dating world provides can be appealing. After all, participants of online dating services don’t have to meet the individuals they communicate with in person until they’ve achieved some level of trust and comfort with the other person. In the end, a participant in the online dating world always has the choice to meet or not to meet.

All online dating services require subscribers to create an online profile. Some profiles are more indepth than others, some services have their members fill out surveys and personality profiles. All services require some personal information from its members, including interests and hobbies and what the subscriber is looking for. The wonderful thing about these profiles is that a subscriber has a wonderful chance to express themselves and their personality.

The subscribers are then matched with, or can search for, fellow subscribers who match their descriptions. Then it is up to the subscribers to pursue a connection with the other subscribers.

This way of self-advertising through online dating doesn’t differ much from a traditional personal ad. Subscribers can relay basic personal information, interests, quotes, a picture, and contact email. Any interested fellow subscriber can then contact that person.

However, a lot of online dating services are now enforcing more stringent rules to crackdown on this and similar problems. Some online dating services are even doing background checks to make sure aspiring subscribers don’t have a criminal record. This adds to the safety of the members of the online dating community.

Online dating services are designed to be simple to use. Anyone with Internet access (as close as a library card) and a credit card can take advantage of these services. With a simple click of a mouse, one can dive from a dating pool that is limited by location and familiarity into a dating pool that is practically infinite.

Live From Madison Square Garden, SEO Vs Sem!

October 31, 2009 | 2 Comments

A great evening in Manhattan, a fantastic atmosphere in Madison Square Garden. Web business people is waiting this match for a long time. One side there is Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing on the other, both seems fit and there is desire to win on face. Last years both sides challenged to other but they never came to face to face. Before the match starts, lets take a short look to their career, strength and weaknesses.

Called SEO is short term of Search Engine Optimization. A milestone in web business since the search engines are the main source for web users before they buy services or products online. Finest and most trustable data source with their high indexing capacity and different logical algos working on the back round may depend on your rankings while results are listed. As most web users do not look much after the 3rd pages of results, web business owners are directly influenced. A web surfer can be your client if your web site is ranked at the top of search results but how you get listed at the top of a major engine? Even there are different algos powering the search engines the main theory is mostly same, simple algo stands on location and frequency. A crawl base search engines use spiders a web site and classifies with different principles to define the ranking. A fact about algo can be changed or improved for search quality. I’am sure all professionals will remember Florida Update on Google. Indeed it was an earchquake more than an update, many results were changed or disappeared on Google, some high rankings even lost from the index. Actually general Google algo is formulated as Relevance Score , PageRank , Local Score with other tweaking , tuning or filtering aspects. Main development point of a search algo is how much off page factors are important and their degrees take part in your algo. The theory on here is not giving much control to webmasters with on page factors .Other search engines do not use Page Rank since Page Rank is a trademark which belongs to Google. Avoiding any spamming , manipulation trials, over optimization or even cloaked content, engines are modifying or changing the degrees ,adding new variables on their algo time to time but all work done is to provide higher search relevancy and quality for users. (Relevance score is SEO efforts, Page Rank is Link building efforts for Google and Local Score is links from expert documents) As seen from the formula, SEO efforts only work on relevance score and vary your ranking 10% if you hired a SEO professional but this can increase 18% if your SEO is master level. I would like to talk about Yahoo and Live search engines’ secrets either but as mentioned they are my professional secrets for now, if you don’t know these, its impossible to get top results on Yahoo or Live.

Search Engine Marketing (Pay Per Click) is paid inclusions as seen Sponsored Results on engines based on pay per click. This marketing tool has been increased enormously in these years, even with expensive per click rates. In some keywords or phrases a click may cost 10€ ( online dating industry) whether visit converts to a lead or not. Ads buyers are ready to pay these high per click bills because SEM efforts bring more revenue than they spent. How this technology works while displaying the ads? Lets say few words about Google Adwords. Google has 2 different networks such as search network and content network. Search network means Google powered search results that you may see on any website with a search bar using Google’s search technology. Content network is different spidering technology and matching the search query and web site content. If you have a web site with high quality and useful content, you may apply and get involved Google’s Adsense network to make money. Google will classify your content and display related ads when a search query is matched as you have probably seen Ads by Google on web.

If SEO and SEM are powerful marketing tools which is the best and effective on sales conversion rates? This is the fatal question, both have advantages changing to the case, then lets compare:

A)In SEM, your web site does not need a change in most cases. If you want high conversion rates, a SEM professional should prepare high quality landing page is necessary only, not your entire design. On the other hand SEO may require some major design changes to get good spidering by engines.

B)PPC Ads charged when clicked only, displaying your ads will not cost you anything but poor Click Through Rates will increase your minimum per click costs. SEO visits are free of charge as visitors comes by clicking the natural search results from a search engine. Most visitors likely to trust a site they find on a search engine, they feel like natural results have been approved by the search engine.

C) SEM brings very quick results to analyze your campaign while SEO effects can take long time on ranking. On Adwords, just 15 minutes is enough to display your campaign on screen but SEO results may take up to 3 months on engine’s ranking.

D) ROI and Conversion rates are higher in SEM because you may design different landing pages according to your major products or services with price charts, feature comparison tables .However in SEO, you can not make these much because your most powerful PR page is your homepage so your sub pages which includes your product specification will not get listed higher than your main page.

E) Targeting is easy in SEM with campaign settings option. You may target national ,regional or international geographical areas depending on your shipping options. Google has features to promote your local business with accessing your business address or just selecting distribution area on Google Map. Another useful tool is matching options are enables you to select broad ,phrase, exacxt or negative matches while displaying your ads. When you prefer SEO, you can not prepare different target pages as they will be sub pages and will not get listed higher than your main page as above.

F) SEM limits you with your budget because your ads campaign will stop displaying when your daily, keywords or monthly budget is reached while SEO results longer even months after optimization work is done.

Finally who wins this match? Well, this depends on your expectation, budget and targets from your campaigns. As long years professional , I dont have a preference . Each business needs different campaigns, you may select to attract new clients in both tools while achieving your corporate targets.

Ladies and Gentlemen, unforgettable match is about to start in Madison Square Garden, please sit back and watch this.

What to do when your family feels he is not good enough for you

October 31, 2009 | 15 Comments

Parents and loved ones always seem to put a damper on our love
life. When you feel that you have finally found the love of your
life, the problem now becomes getting your family to accept your
guy and see how charming he really is. Sometimes, it can be
tough to get them to see what you see in your guy. Sometimes, in
their well-meaning attempt to make sure that you get the best,
they encroach into your private life – where you ought to be the
sole decision maker.

I am sure you have had the experience of introducing your date
to members of your family and afterward, had your parents,
brothers and sisters gather around you to give you their opinion
on the guy.

Sometimes these opinions may be just what you want to hear, but
sometimes you are saddened and disappointed, when they tell you
that they don’t like your new guy. If your guy is truly a lover,
someone that is making you happy, there are ways you can get
your family to know him better and see him for who he is.

Start by inviting him home for dinner with your family. Be sure
he wears something that you are certain will impress your folks.
He doesn’t have to wear formal attire. He can be casual. You
know the kinds of clothing that will impress your folks. If they
are not into tattoos, it may not be a good idea for your guy to
rub his tattoo-covered arm in their face. A long sleeve shirt
may be a good idea, at least until they get to know who he
really is on the inside. It is quite easy to have a negative
opinion of someone based on his outward appearance. If your
folks are not into tattoos, they may put him in the “Bad-biker”
category, when in reality he is just a cuddly teddy.

Moments like this need to be handled with the utmost care. It is
hard enough that he will be meeting your family, who will
undoubtedly assess him from head to toe to ascertain his
suitability for their lovely little angel. Parents sometimes
have a hard time understanding that you are old enough to take
care of yourself, or that you have already been doing that for
quite a long time now. No matter how old you are, they still
think you are their little princess, and they feel obligated to
protect from the bad boys of the world.

Before you invite your new beau over for dinner, tell your folks
ahead of time to relax and make your guy feel at home. Let them
know that you are watching their every move to make sure they do
not ruin the moment for you, or embarrass you by asking your guy
questions you have not even discussed with him. You know -
questions like, “So when are you getting engaged to my
daughter?” or, “You have to have a good job, if you want to
marry my daughter.” This line of questioning will certainly make
both you and your guy feel very uncomfortable.

When the day finally arrives, everyone has been properly
introduced, and you have gathered at the dinner table to eat,
start your conversation by sharing those things that endear your
guy to you. If he has a special skill or talent you think will
impress your folks, share it with them. If he is an excellent
artist, a great athlete, a brilliant student or professor, let
your family members know his great qualities.

Be sure to keep things light and funny. Always strive to make
comments that put him in a good light. The picture you paint of
him will largely determine whether or not your family members
will change their opinion of him. You hold the key to your
parents accepting your guy. You simply have to know how and when
to use this key intelligently.

Once dinner is done, and your guy goes home, he should call your
folks to thank them for a wonderful dinner, and also to let them
know that he thoroughly enjoyed meeting them.

Do’s and Don’ts on a First Date

October 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

The first date is a critical moment in any relationship. You want to put your best foot forward and make a good impression. In fact, you want that so bad that your jitters and nervousness can derail your attempts to impress that date. Never fear, though, because if you follow the advice in this article, you are bound to make the best impression possible. If the girl or guy doesn’t want to date you again, it might just be that you really aren’t suited for each other. If this is the case, there isn’t any point in wanting it to continue anyway, right? So here are some do’s and don’ts that should smooth the way.

Do plan an actual date, such as a movie, concert, or dinner. Have an entertaining evening all planned out instead of just getting together to see what happens. You can always go to plan B later if things are going good.

Do be clean, well groomed, and appropriately dressed for the event.

Do be on time. Tardiness shows a great lack of respect for that other person. Likewise, showing up an hour early because you just can’t wait puts pressure on them because they are probably not ready.

Do be decisive about the restaurant or other places you will go, but remain flexible. If you chose a steakhouse, but didn’t realize your date was into vegetarian fare, it would be a kind gesture to change the plans to visit a restaurant more suitable to her tastes. Generally speaking, however, someone needs to be willing to make the decisions. Nothing is a bigger waste of time than two people batting a restaurant choice around.

Do take a little time to think up some things to talk about if you are both naturally quiet people. Most people like to answer questions about themselves. Try not to just ask a list of yes or no questions though, as though you are interrogating them. Ask questions that require more of an answer. Ask about his or her hobbies, interests, and ideas.

Don’t, however, openly argue with your date’s ideas. If you can tell that you are worlds apart in philosophy or religion, it might me a good idea to just enjoy the entertainment and find someone else to ask out the next time.

Don’t spend your date doing something self-centered. For instance, if you go to an arcade, let your date play the games, too. Don’t sit and talk on the cell phone or do business while you’re together either. Your date should have your undivided attention.

Don’t make them feel ogled or watched, however. If you find them extremely desirable, try to restrain yourself. Don’t put them on the defensive. Give them time to get to know you, and they might find you equally desirable.

Finally, don’t give up before you have given yourself and your date a fair chance. Remember that he or she is nervous, too. Don’t get impatient about either pushing the relationship or giving up on it. Give it a chance to grow on its own.
